Clara Durodié is a technology strategist specializing in applied artificial intelligence (AI) in financial services, with a focus on AI & Ethics and the strategic adoption of AI for business profitability. She is internationally recognized for her expertise, advising Boards of leading financial institutions, think-tanks, governments, and academia. She also mentors AI startups on funding and growth strategy.

She is consistently named on numerous global lists of leading women in fintech, and is the Chair of the Non-Executive Directors Board’s special committee on Best Practice for AI Adoption (UK) and a member of IEEE Global Initiative on Ethics of Autonomous and Intelligent Systems (USA). Clara has advised the World Economic Forum’s 4th Industrial Revolution Centre in San Francisco (US), the All Parliamentary Party Group for Artificial Intelligence (UK) and the Ministry of Finance’s special commission on Artificial Intelligence (Japan). In June 2018, Clara was also appointed as a member of the European Union Artificial Intelligence Alliance, an EU governmental body.

Clara is a frequent presenter at leading conferences around the globe, including SIBOS, Money 2020, Innovate Finance Global Summit, AI World and the Goshal Conference at London Business School where she addressed an audience from leading universities around the world such as Harvard, Stanford, MIT and Cambridge. She has been invited to provide her expertise to deliver the AI Module at University of Oxford’s Fintech course, as well as the renowned Roubini Report on asset and wealth management.

In 2015, Clara started scoping the research for her PhD which sits at the intersection of neuroscience, artificial intelligence and asset management. Her focus is on how episodic memory informs how people save and invest.

Prior to founding an AI consultancy and investment firm, Cognitive Finance Group, Clara served in leadership roles in European asset and wealth management in the UK, Switzerland and Luxembourg.

Clara is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (UK), has a Certificate in Investment Management (UK) and holds a Master’s degree from the University of Oxford.

Currently Senior Advisor to the Digital Currency Initiative at the MIT Media Lab, Casey has two decades of experience as a journalist—most recently as a senior columnist at The Wall Street Journal, covering digital currency, global finance, and economics. In addition to co-authoring The Age of Cryptocurrency: How Bitcoin and Digital Money Are Challenging the Global Economic Order—a “timely and colorful book [that] is a rewarding place to learn it all” (The New York Times) and “the most thorough and readable account of the short life of this controversial currency” (The Washington Post)—and hundreds of bylines at WSJ, he has written for Foreign Policy, The Washington Post, The Financial Times and many other publications. He is also the author of two prior books: The Unfair Trade: How Our Broken Financial System Destroys the Middle Class and Che’s Afterlife: The Legacy of an Image.

Becky Kux is Portfolio Manager at 500 Startups, one of the most active seed stage venture capital firms on a mission to discover and back the world’s most talented entrepreneurs globally. Based in Kuala Lumpur, Becky is the touchpoint for the ~170 Southeast Asian portfolio companies throughout their lifecycle with the regionally focused fund, 500 Durians, monitoring and reporting on their progress, and aiding in access to later stage capital. Prior to joining 500, Becky led Customer Success for startup TrustedCompany across Southamerica and Asia, providing her with the insights on operating a startup with a global footprint, her first foray into entrepreneurship after being an active concert pianist in her native Toronto, Canada.

Ismail Chaib is the Chief Operating Officer at TESOBE / Open Bank Project, where he has been leading strategy, sales, marketing and day to day operations for the last 5 years. Ismail graduated from the University of Nice, France with a Master’s Degree in IT. Passionate about the role FinTech can play in society, he is a vocal advocate of Open Banking. Stephane Dubois is a well-known fintech thought leader and is frequently quoted in publications, including Forbes, MarketsMedia, WallStreet & Technology, Financial News, Bob's Guide, Inside Reference Data, and Venture Capital Journal. He has spoken at numerous fintech events around the world, including Finovate, FinDEVr, Bank Innovation, Next Money, World Exchange Conf., World Finance Information Conf. and The Money Conference. Prior to founding Xignite, Stephane was Vice President of Product Management at Advent Software, the leading provider of software solutions for the investment management industry. Prior to Advent, Stephane held senior product and marketing management positions at Walker Interactive Systems and Oracle Corporation. Stephane holds an MS in Management from M.I.T. Sloan School of Management and MS and BS degrees in international management from the MBA Institute in Paris.

Mark Smalley has been living in Malaysia for the past 20 years, from where he has been building FinTech applications for the past 15 years. He currently serves as the founder & CEO of R1 DOT MY Sdn Bhd, a technology solutions provider incorporated in Malaysia in 2012, from where it has been consulting with several organizations and startups to help implement and adopt new technologies such as NoSQL storage and distributed ledgers.

Neuroware is the brand name for R1 DOT MY’s blockchain and distributed ledger technology solutions. It was first established when the company was selected to join Batch 9 of the illustrious 500 Startups accelerator program in Silicon Valley at the beginning of 2014. It was during his time there in the USA that Venturebeat declared Neuroware as one of the 5 most promising startups to watch from the Batch 9 demo day pitches that took place at Microsoft.

With keynotes being conducted at TEDx Kuching, the Islamic Financial News Asia and International Digital Economy Conference of Sarawak (IDECS), Mark has an insatiable passion to spread new ideas, which has included regular appearances on BFM and more recently being featured in the DNA Digerati 50 alongside other founders from Catcha & Grab.

His extensive training sessions and technical workshops have been adopted by a number of large organizations through active partnerships with Red Money and iTrain - through to direct sessions with Labuan Financial Services Authority, Hong Leong Bank Berhad, Cybersecurity Malaysia, Axiata and many more. Mark has led Neuroware to not only be featured on several occasions as one of Malaysia’s top-ten fintech companies, but with extensive coverage at various international events has also gotten Neuroware featured by Deloitte as one of the world’s top 50 regtech companies - the only one specifically based within Malaysia. This work also led to an extensive week long training with Baker Hostetler in The United States.

Elain is a Co-Founder and Director in Ata Plus, a Malaysian licensed Equity Crowdfunding platform. Upbeat and optimistic, she believes nothing is impossible and all challenges are just another form of opportunities. This proves to be the fuel in her 23-year career in the areas of management, business strategy, human resource, business development, relationship management, marketing and corporate communications. She has served notable organisations, namely Petronas, MDeC, Malaysia Debt Ventures, DiGi Telecommunications and Packet One Networks. She currently sits on the Board of Western Union Payments Malaysia and the Chairman of Western Union Internal Audit Committee, while being actively involved in the start-up community, advising entrepreneurs in funding, strategy and operations. Elain is instrumental in establishing Ata Plus’ partnerships, deal screening and operations framework. Elain graduated from the London School of Economics with a BSc in Actuarial Science and MSc in Operational Research.

Kristine Ng is a Director and founding CEO of Peoplender Sdn Bhd which fully owns and runs Fundaztic.com, Malaysia's leader in P2P financing in terms of SMEs funded.

Her passion in driving innovation saw her coming up with many industry first movers before her time with the company.

Before her role in Fundaztic, Kristine held the position of Executive Vice President, Business Development at Credit Guarantee Corporation (CGC). She revamped the go-to-market structure of the Corporation by coming up with business fronting units that directly deals with various types of clients and succeeded in regaining the confidence of the commercial banks through process and product improvements.

Kristine was also responsible for the overall supervision of development and implementation of business and marketing strategies for the Corporation inclusive of the client management model and the Corporation’s network of 16 branches.

The PG model enhanced and the WG model launched during her stewardship not only achieved high business growth but also won international accolades.

He is of Chinese-Malaysian descent and was born and raised in the United Kingdom. He began his career in Silicon Valley in various startups within the Compliance space. After 6 years, Robin proceeded to Wall Street where he worked in the hedge fund industry for 4 years covering technology companies as a Trader, Research Analayst and Portfolio Manager. Following 3 years in the Compliance education industry, Robin embraced his combined experience and launched The Governance RiskamL Compliance Ethics Foundation (G.R.A.C.E.), an edtech/regtech firm which was subsequently acquired by RHTLaw Taylor-Wessing, the 2nd largest law firm in Singapore. Following the completion of the integration of G.R.A.C.E. within RHT, Robin joined Datarama, a RegTech firm that specializes in Digitally Enhanced Due Diligence while simultaneously brainstorming the concept and formation of Inzsure, where he took the role of Chief eXperience Officer and Xperientia, an “Xperience” consulting company he co-founded. 

Robin also sits on the advisory boards of the Shift Jobs, Governance Risk and Compliance Investments and Technology (RegTech Investments) and Dynamic GRC (RegTech). He previously sat on the boards of TraceTo, ICFE Group of Companies,  Game Lab X (Video Games Publishing) which has since been acquired.

He is also an Adjunct Professor at the National University of Singapore where he teaches Technology Psychology or TechPsych (how to think and act like a Tech Company).

Johnny is the Malaysia General Manager of SuperCharger – Asia's leading FinTech accelerator. Recognised in Forbes Asia 30 Under 30 (2016 – Venture Capital & Finance) Johnny has played a leading role in developing the FinTech agenda across the region; educating numerous organisations, regional banks, national regulators, and government departments on how they can understand and adopt blockchain technologies and new FinTech initiatives. Johnny was a co-founder of Neuroware.io, Malaysia’s first blockchain startup and the first Malaysian-based team to be accepted into the 500 Startups Accelerator in Silicon Valley. He spoke at the Malaysia 2017 National Budget Discourse where an extra RM1 billion was made available to startups.

Mr. Chin Wei Min is the Executive Director at the Malaysia Securities Commission (SC). He leads the Innovation, Digital and Strategy division, overseeing the Digital, Analytics, Strategy and Technology departments.

Wei Min was formerly the Asia Pacific Managing Director for the Capital Market industry at a global leading management consulting, technology services and outsourcing firm. With more than 20 years of industry experience in the financial services sector, particularly in the emerging technology and digital domain.

SC is the first country in ASEAN to introduce a regulatory framework to facilitate equity crowdfunding (ECF), with six registered operators full operational in 2016. SC also announced the regulatory framework for peer-to-peer (P2P) financing, setting out the requirements for registration for P2P platform. In 2017, the regulatory requirement for Digital Investment Management was introduced.

Marcus is PwC Malaysia’s FS consulting practice leader with over 25 years of strategy consulting, change management, business process reengineering, and large-scale transformation experience with Asian and global financial service clients in USA, Europe and all major Asian countries. He has focused on working with clients to define and implement major transformation initiatives, conduct post merger integrations, and manage large projects involving complex technology solutions, business process reengineering, and change management challenges in diverse geographic and cultural environments.

 He is a frequent speaker at workshops and conferences on technologies' impact on how people work and live.
